We always encourage our brides to contact us while they are working on the wedding day! A well constructed timeline makes for a stress free day and helps everyone to enjoy the day! The first part of our Wedding Day Timeline series is going to cover what the getting ready portion of the day might look like if you are waiting to see your fiance when he walks down the aisle.
Most wedding days begin with hair but we find it most helpful to start from the ceremony time and work backwards. Let’s look at an example.
Hair for the bridesmaids 10:00 or 11:00
Hair for bride/bridesmaids 12:00
The amount of time that you will need for hair will depend on how many girls there are and how many hair dressers you have. We highly suggest that the bride starts in plenty of time to be done by touch up time. So then she has plenty of time for her make-up. This allows for things to run a little behind without stress as well.
Hair and Make-up Touch ups/photographer arrives for detail shots 1:00
When we arrive we will gather your details, which you can read about HERE as well as get a few shots of your finishing touches while you get ready.
Bridesmaids clean up the room and get into dresses 1:45
Cleaning up the space by putting any bags and supplies in one place and cleaning up clutter around the room helps make getting ready photos much more beautiful! Having the bridesmaids in their dresses before the bride creates gorgeous images that are cohesive with the look of the rest of the day.
Bride gets in the dress 2:15
Giving the bride about 30 minutes to get into the multiple layers of a dress and then put on her shoes, jewelry, and garter.
Bridal Portraits with Bridesmaids 2:45
Bridal portraits 3:15
Planning to have bridal portraits of just the bride and her bridesmaids is a great way to save some time between the ceremony and reception. Robert can do the same with the Groom and groomsmen! But do not worry. If the timeline runs behind and these images get pushed to the portrait time with the full bridal party this happens often and we are used to splitting up and quickly getting them done.
Down Time 3:30
30 minutes of down time to reapply any make-up, use the restroom, and recompose before walking down the aisle is very beneficial for a stress free day.
Ceremony Music 4:00
Ceremony Begins 4:30
We are so excited to help you with your wedding planning!
