Today I am excited to share with you what little Max’s nursery looks like. Of course I was once again drawn to the peaceful happiness that a soft share of teal brings to me. So when I found his crib on Amazon I simply couldn’t resist! Not to mention, it had great reviews, was affordable, AND transformed into a toddler bed and it came WITH the necessary pieces to do so. I decided this past summer that I wanted to go with a woodland animal theme but I was very particular and didn’t want it to be too “character like.” I spent hours searching for just the right accents, fabrics that matched my vision, and all of the little added touches. I must have been in Joann Fabrics for nearly 3 hours searching for just the right fabrics for his quilt. My AMAZING friend and sidekick Lea tackled making her first quilt ever for little Max… She really is an incredible friend. I owe her more than she knows. Anyways, after searching for hours I loved what I found but it was tough. I found a few more at Hobby Lobby and ALMOST ordered a few from Etsy too. Little did I know that had I waited a few more months I would see this theme EVERYWHERE!
I watched for the navy rug to go on sale at Target and snatched it up as soon as it did. I found a lot of the little animals from Joann’s when their fall decor went on sale. For whatever reason there were squirrels, foxes, and hedgehogs EVERYWHERE this year and it worked out perfectly for me!
After finding the fabric I went to my usual decorating heaven and went a little crazy in Hobby Lobby. They had a whole little section for nurseries with a woodland theme so it was pretty simple to select some prints to use in his room. I made a few as well and drew a tree for the guest book at my shower. They all now hang over his crib.
I couldn’t find a mobile that I felt fit just right so I made one using Christmas ornaments that were owls and a hedge hog (thankfully these ended up being really big this year!) and lots of ribbon. It was really fairly simple and I love that his mobile is one of a kind!
After we purchased our new home, Max’s room was one of the first to be painted and then I finished the decorating and organizing. I LOVE his space and I am glad that it is mature enough that he can grow into it for at least a few years until he develops his own little style and preferences. Oh! I can’t forget to give credit to the INCREDIBLY art teacher that I work with at my music teaching job. She made the painting that has a Fox and says Max on it! LOVE it!
