1st Find your personal Style
There are a couple different styles that really dominate the world of photography. The two most common looks are bright and airy vs. dark and moody. There are variations of both and both can be lovely. It is all a matter of what you personally love and what you want to look back on 20-30 years from now.
Look through Pinterest and pin your favorite images. Once you have done this go back through the gallery and look for recurring style. Once you know what you are most drawn to and love you will be able to better determine the style you would like for your wedding photos!
Photographers that Match Your Style
When you are looking for photographers look not only at their galleries but also through their blog posts. Often times you will see a larger example of their work on the blog! If you are interested in their work and still want to see more feel free to ask them to see albums as well as a full gallery! We highly recommend viewing at least one full gallery before booking your photographer.
Will You Connect?
Your photographers will be with you almost more than your soon to be husband on your wedding day. We are there with you when you are getting ready through all of the events in the evening. That being said, getting along and just feeling comfortable with your photographer is so important! Some ways to see if you think you may get along before you meet with them is by looking at their social media, reading their about me page, and reading through their photography philosophy if they share one! Of course setting up a time to talk and meet with them as well. We often end up being close to our couples because we want to know who you are on your wedding day! Since we spend so much time with you we value being more than just a fly on the wall.
Budget?
Budget is another important element as you look for your photographer. Investments can range anywhere from $2,000-$10,000 for a wedding photographer. With varying levels of experience, education, and equipment, your final product as well as your overall experience can greatly differ from one photographer to another.
Aside from your venue, which will often be your highest investment, we recommend you place an importance on your photographers and set your budget as high as you can with-in our own personal reason. Other than your spouse and possibly a video, this is the only thing that you physically keep with you after your wedding day to remember all of your wonderful memories! Once you have set your budget, then you can see what your choices are.
What is Included in the Experience?
Once you find someone who’s style fits, you are comfortable with personally, and they fit your budget then look to see what comes with your package. For us, having our files available to us was very important to us! That is part of why we offer a 10 year online gallery to all of our brides! An engagement session is included with all of our packages because we highly value this time with your brides and grooms! We also always help our couples build their wedding day timeline! There are options available for prints, and keepsake albums and we love to send little gifts to you throughout the process!
