Kristen and Nick’s summer wedding at the Shoreby Club can be described with one word: joyful. The day began with excitement quite literally bouncing off the walls. While the bridal party was getting ready, the energy in the room was electric. Nick’s mom suggested they jump on the bed, which led to some incredibly joyful chaos (and one of our favorite getting-ready moments of ALL TIME). Kristen, her mom, and her soon-to-be mother-in-law all joined in. It was one of those moments that perfectly captures what wedding mornings should feel like — lighthearted, full of laughter, and rooted in connection.

A Stunning Bride and a Favorite Bridal Look

Even under the blazing heat of an Ohio summer heat wave, Kristen looked absolutely flawless. Truly, her bridal look was timeless, elegant, and perfectly suited for the day. We’ve photographed so many beautiful weddings, but Kristen’s hair might just be my all-time favorite. Her updo was polished, sophisticated, and it held up perfectly in the heat. 

Portraits, Party Vibes, and a Dance Floor Surprise at the Shoreby Club

After the ceremony, the celebration kicked into high gear. Kristen and Nick didn’t just include their wedding party on the party bus for portraits, but they invited all of the spouses, too. That decision says so much about who they are: welcoming, thoughtful, and always ready to bring people into their joy. 

The portraits were a true reflection of that energy. At one point, everyone jumped (literally!) for a group photo that perfectly captured the carefree, celebratory spirit of the day. It wasn’t just about beautiful images; it was about staying present, making memories, and embracing every moment together.

As the sun set over Lake Erie, the reception at the Shoreby Club came alive. The dance floor was packed from the first song to the last, but one of the most unforgettable moments came late in the evening when Kristen and Nick surprised everyone by hopping behind the DJ booth. Together, they mixed tracks, danced, and laughed — bringing their own joyful spirit right into the heart of the party. It was the perfect, celebratory ending to a day already bursting with joy.

The Coastal Beauty of Shoreby Club Weddings

It’s no secret that we love working at the Shoreby Club. Every time we’re there, it’s hard to believe this gem is in Ohio. The waves crashing against the rocks, the horizon stretching wide over the water, and the gentle lake breeze offering a sense of calm that feels straight out of New England … Kristen and Nick’s wedding captured that magic perfectly. 

Of course, a day like this doesn’t happen without the right people behind the scenes. Working with Nicole from Sirpilla Soirees was — once again — an absolute dream. Nicole’s calm presence, attention to detail, and incredible bridal concierge made sure Kristen and Nick were cared for from the very first moment. Having a planner by your side through the day to handle the logistics (and the little things you didn’t even realize you’d need) makes a world of difference. It allows the couple (and everyone around them) to fully enjoy the day without stress or distraction.
