This may be a few weeks delayed because we were waiting for our blog to migrate over for the big new website reveal! In the mean time, we gathered our goals for 2016 and can’t wait to share them with you! 2016 is a bit different for us this year. We are so excited to welcome little Max to our family and with his arrival comes some different goals for 2016. We are so excited to jump in full force and can’t wait to see what this year has to bring.

Robert said he doesn’t like setting “new year’s goals” because in his words “They don’t always get done” but, I beg to differ because I went back to look at our 2015 goals and we surpassed everyone of them! I am so glad that I took the time to write them down because life happens fast and it is so easy to miss so many wonderful things that are happening. Looking back and seeing that we have accomplished so much is so uplifting and exciting for what is still to come! So for 2016 I have lots of exciting goals that I can’t wait to tackle!

Photograph 8-12 weddings

Last year we had 23 weddings and it was WONDERFUL! We loved every minute of it but we want to be sure that we can continue to go above and beyond for all of our brides so we decided that in order to do just that we are cutting back on the number of weddings that we take on. We want to be sure that we have more than enough time to make your experience unforgettable!

Spend time with family and create lasting memories with Max

This friends is another reason why we made the decision to go to 8-12 weddings. We value marriage and know how important it is to spend quality time with each other and with little Max! We can not tell you how many times we have been reminded how precious this first year is and we intend to make the very most of it!

 

Create more fun experiences for our Brides

As I said before we love going above and beyond. We want to be so much more than just your photographer and that goes for not only on your wedding day but leading up to and afterwards as well! Having someone that you can trust and know is there for you on your big day is so valuable and we want to be there in any way possible. That doesn’t happen by meeting once and just showing up. We want to share your joy and be a part of your exciting journey to marriage!

I tell myself every year that I need to read more then I get really excited and go out and buy 10 books. Well this year I am setting a realistic goal in hopes that I will far surpass it. I want to read at least 2 FULL books! I tend to read the first few chapters, LOVE the book, and never go back to finish it. This year I want to finish reading them and then apply what I have learned.

Education

Last year we invested in TONS of education… really TONS! This year we can’t wait to continue to learn and grow. First up on the list is to complete all of our Academy courses that we purchased last year. Thankfully I have a little buddy who likes to cuddle while I soak in all of the awesome information!

Finances and Investments

Robert is a saver. I on the other hand need him to help me with this journey. I am so thankful for his wise spending and budgeting! Without him we wouldn’t be where we are today. This year we have plans to pay off a few bills and then save up for some exciting new photography equipment and hopefully a piano. There is something about listening to him sit down to play that takes me back to our years in the music building and just fills my soul with joy. I can’t wait to listen to Max play one day too! .. I should probably practice myself as well.

Get Fit

.. Isn’t this everyone’s goal to some degree? It takes on a whole new meaning as a new mom and I can’t wait to get started! Step one towards success is already on a roll with my smart choice for breakfast! Just a few more weeks and I can add some working out to our daily routine! Can’t wait for big changes in 2016!

Positivity

Last but certainly not least this year I want to make it a point to wake up with a fresh positive spirit every morning. We are so blessed and while it is so easy to get bogged down and stressed with so much going on life is so much more enjoyable with a positive uplifting attitude. I want to look on the bright side and focus on the many blessings we have been given!
