There are tons of lists online that tell you what you should ask a photographer when meeting with them before deciding if they are the right fit for you. Last week we wrote on when to schedule a consultation meeting. You can read more about that here. Once it is scheduled then you can ask yourself and the photographer these things.

First: What should you ask yourself when you are there? 

• Does this person mesh well with my personality? You will spend nearly more time with your photographer than your new husband. Make sure you feel comfortable with them as it will help your day be much more enjoyable!
• Now that I have seen more of their work, does it still fit my style and vision? These images will be with you for years to come and are one of the only things that you get to keep from your wedding day. Make sure their style fits what you are dreaming of and that it is timeless. Instagram is great and so are the fun actions but will you love them in 20 years? How about 50?

Second: What should you ask of them?

• Did they show you a full wedding gallery? If so, awesome! If not, ask to see one and look for consistency in their work, details, and anything else that you may be dreaming of for your wedding photos!
• You may want to ask a few business things to give you peace of mind: Do you have insurance and do you have back up equipment? These are two things that help protect you and guarantee that they are going to be able to give you professional services! If they aren’t already mentioned go ahead and ask. It is a pretty simple yes or no question that can help ease your mind!
• Ask to see more of their work? Most likely you will get to look through some albums and as I mentioned above a full gallery. this is important. Once again to make sure you are completely in love with the decision you are about to make!
• Any additional questions about what is included in your investment. We take time to show you the online galleries where we post our images, explain each and every service that is provided to you, and help you to understand what your experience is like but if you are unsure or have any questions please feel free to ask!

Once you have finished your meeting if you haven’t already take a look at the contract to see if you have any additional questions and then talk to your soon to be husband about your decision! Remember to always go back to those first two questions that you ask yourself, personality and style, they are key in finding your perfect wedding photographer!
