Gina and Cody are Getting Married
We can’t wait for Gina and Cody’s wedding day at Williams on the Lake in October. Our October to filling up rather quickly! When Gina contacted us she didn’t waste any time. They live about a hour away and have met us before so it made sense to chat on the phone instead of driving down here since we knew their engagement session was coming quickly. Of course we got them cupcakes anyways because that is just part of being a cannon couple!
When we Met Gina and Cody
We met Gina and Cody on Jillyan and Cody’s wedding day so it was so exciting to hear from them again! It was a wonderful and VERY hot day! I remember carrying water bottles around and working just as fast as our recent winter weddings but for the opposite reasons. Everyone was HOT and we wanted to be sure to take care of them and be mindful of the heat so we got things done and got everyone back to the air conditioning. I remembered chatting with Gina at the wedding and am so excited that both Jillyan and David are going to be in their wedding this year! It is always fun to see our past couples at weddings!
The Engagement Session
To say we had a fun time would be an understatement. Really, it was a blast. It may have been cold but the snow was beautiful and non of us could stop laughing in the best way possible! Gina said afterwards that she hasn’t laughed that much in a long time and we agreed! When they walked up we instantly felt like old friends and it was such an enjoyable afternoon! One of Gina’s favorite moments was when we asked Cody to whisper his favorite desert into her ear and instead of saying chocolate cake, or ice cream Cody said, in all seriousness, TACOS! Their faces lit up and it made for some pretty adorable portraits full of genuine joy! That was 100% our goal! If we ever ask you to say or do silly things the goal is always to find that genuine emotion. No worries, we give plenty of time to warm up and get used to how it feels behind the camera before we throw anything too silly into the mix.
Special Addition
You may notice our session didn’t include just Gina and Cody. That adorable little man, is Gavin, Gina’s 7 year old. He was so spirited and such a sweet boy! It was clear that he loves is momma and once he warmed up he was excited for pictures!
Petro’s at Winter Time
We LOVE Petro’s park any time of the year and it is equally as pretty when it is snow covered. There are so many endless options at Petro’s for engagement pictures. We weren’t able to use our go to field because everything was super low but there were tons of other gorgeous options! We love engagement sessions in the snow and we were so excited to have a couple this winter season before we send our equipment off to be cleaned for the rest of the season!
