As we first started, we added on guest speakers to our intimate event. Quickly, we realized that it was no longer a workshop but now a conference for wedding photographers with multiple educators. We continued to build upon the vision that we had and utilized the tools we knew. Including, how to host, work with large groups of people and coordinate an event.
During this time we were both music teachers. Robert was a High School Choir Director and I was an Elementary Music Teacher teaching K-4th Grade. I led 700 students a year, often producing performances with over 200 students on one stage with a variety of 30 different teachers.
To say that being music teachers gave us the experience to host a conference would be an understatement. We are so grateful for the skillsets being teachers has brought us.
As our event morphed into a wedding photographer conference, we quickly knew exactly the level of connection and community that we wanted to create. We provided a variety of opportunities for educators to come alongside attendees and be together.
During 2020 life was tough and we honestly didn’t even know if we were going to get to host the conference. We were amazed by not only the turnout but by the overall experience that everyone had. We were so thankful that we were able to take the various precautions that were recommended to us at the time and continue to host our event successfully.
Following our first year of The Graceful Gathering we were still teaching. Therefore, we decided to take a year off before hosting our second round of The Graceful Gathering. We are so thankful for the incredible people who trusted us that first time around. It has allowed us to create a community that is now blooming in ways that we could have never imagined!
Be sure to check back for around two recap of The Graceful Gathering…you will not want to miss it! We will abe featuring the sponsors who graciously poured into our attendees. They provided incredible offers exclusive to the event and items in attendees swag bags.
