And at our most recent Grace in Motion in-person workshop, we set out to capture that very magic. With the help of a talented creative team, we designed an editorial that showcased how a tented celebration can feel both timeless and modern, grounded in natural beauty while infused with thoughtful, refined design. 

Planning the Grace in Motion Tented Shoot

The Inspiration

The vision for this editorial was to create an elevated garden-party experience that felt intimate, romantic, and effortlessly sophisticated. Drawing inspiration from European countryside gatherings and the elegance of tented soirees, we aimed to blend lush florals, soft textiles, and refined details into one cohesive story. 

The result? A wedding design that whispered timeless tradition while embracing modern grace. 

Wedding Colors

The palette was soft yet vibrant: blush, peach, and pink florals mingled with creamy whites, touches of sage greenery, and subtle gold accents. These tones brought warmth and freshness, evoking the beauty of a summer garden in full bloom. 

The Venue 

Basil Place, an Ohio estate known for its expansive grounds, serene gardens, and luxury hospitality, set the stage for this design. A sailcloth tent nestled among lush greenery became the perfect canvas, with florals cascading inside and out. The property’s natural beauty paired seamlessly with our refined aesthetic, creating an enchanting garden escape.

The Wedding Gown

Our bride wore a classic strapless ballgown with a structured bodice and sweeping train. The timeless silhouette moved gracefully across the lawn, while a cathedral-length veil brought added romance. Styled with a soft updo and natural makeup, her look was both refined and effortless, exactly what you’d expect from a bride at a garden soiree. 

The Wedding Party

The groom’s sharp black tuxedo with a crisp bowtie perfectly complemented the bride’s gown. Together, their attire elevated the black-tie feel while still allowing the relaxed garden setting to shine.

Florals & Decor

Floral artistry was at the heart of this editorial. Roses, peonies, and seasonal blooms in shades of blush, peach, and ivory trailed with greenery, cloaking the ceremony arch, lining the tent poles, and overflowing from woven baskets. 

Inside the tent, a mix of round and rectangular tables dressed in lace linens featured blush-toned glassware, gold flatware, and the glow of candlelight. Cascading centerpieces tied the look together, creating a design that felt abundant yet welcoming. 

Our Favorite Design Element

The floral-framed tent entrance was an absolute showstopper. Bursting with roses, peonies, and greenery, it welcomed guests with a breathtaking first impression and set the tone for the celebration to come.
