Lots of amazing couples have been getting engaged recently and we have a few things you may want to consider BEFORE you share it with everyone on Facebook and Instagram! We know the struggle is real because you want to shout it from the rooftops that you’re getting married!! It is truly so exciting so before you do that here are a couple things to consider. Then by all means, shout away!
1. Go celebrate with your fiance!!!
Let’s be honest, social media is a time sucker and takes away from real moments and loved ones so don’t take your phone out yet. Spend some real quality time with your now fiance and soon to be husband! Hug and kiss a little more! Take in all the joy together!
2. Tell your closest family and friends FIRST!
Facebook and Instagram become so every day for all of us that we forget that there are other truly MORE social ways to communicate. So make those calls or even just texts to close friends and let them know first! Especially to those aunts and uncles or grandmas who are on facebook but don’t really understand all the fuse. You don’t want them to feel left out because they found out on social media instead of from you personally.
3. Type out your proposal story and save it for yourself.
So many people with ask “How He Asked” so instead of typing it out 1000x type it out once and copy and paste to share. Just a little tip from someone who is always looking to save a little time! =)
4. Take a pretty picture of your ring and maybe get a manicure!
This isn’t a MUST but it certainly will amp up the excitement even more! This is one time that even if you don’t get manicures often it is so worth it because you will be showing off your bling a lot! The staring at it phase sticks around for a long while too!!!
5. Prepare yourself for the Questions.
People will begin asking what the date is and what kind of wedding you envision pretty quickly. That being said, you might want to consider having some sort of round about answer so it doesn’t drive you crazy.
